Beinn an Dothaidh conditions

IMG_5464Today I was out climbing with Jon Cluett. We met at Lix Toll at 7am with the plan to head in to the NE corrie of Beinn an Dothaidh with an aim to do Pas De deux, the cliassic V 6. Our motivation was low as we drove up the road in the rain with the car saying +7°. We decided to wonder up and have a look with low expectations. To our surprise the crag was frozen with plenty of ice and firm snow. We opted for the much easier West buttress as the turf was frozen but not bomber at the bottom of the crag. We finished the route at 12.30 and back home for 3. Plenty of other routes are looking good in the corrie, Cirrus is complete but looks a little thin and all of the mixed turf routes should be in great condition towards the end of the week when the colder weather sets in
